What you want to look for are white or orange hairs. These are the females. Male plants on the other hand only have seeds or nuts. They form a cluster of seeds which are easy to spot once they develop into a certain size. If you don't know wait a little longer to see now the plant develops. Waiting too long you could risk the chance of the male plants pollinating the female plants. If the happens they female plant will get seeds as well.
