STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS: First, be sure that you really let your cannabis plant dry out completely. If you are going to use amendments (fertilizer), add that to the soil first, according to the recommendations. In this video, we have a five-gallon fabric pot and we add a gallon (about 4 litres) of water. Whatever the size of the pot you have, the main concept to keep in mind is to water bit-by-bit. Because you have allowed the soil to dry out completely, the soil is going to repel water, so you will need to add water slowly, first moistening the dry soil; then, as the soil becomes moist, it can hold more and more water. In this video, we add one gallon (about 4 litres) of water to the five-gallon pot. First we dechlorinate the tap-water with vitamin C (ascorbic acid) powder. Then we add the water to the pot one quart (about a litre) at a time. Wait for the first quart (or half-quart if it is not sinking in) to absorb, then add more. Be patient! After you have added as much water as you think the soil will take, there may be some water in the tray, which is normal. It is likely that the excess water will reabsorb in a couple of hours, but in case it doesn’t, you can use a turkey baster to remove the excess water. You do not want the pot to sit in a tray full of excess water for too long – three hours is a good time to make the executive decision to remove the excess water. Again - remember to let your cannabis plant dry out completely before you water it! You want to promote root growth and letting the pot dry out is important. GrowDaddy uses Gaia Green amendments.
